Bio:
Junior college transfer who started both his seasons at Texas A&M Commerce. Earned First Team All-Lone Star Conference honors and tied for the team lead with three interceptions while adding 41 tackles (8.5 for loss), one forced fumble and seven pass breakups in 2017. Named Honorable Mention All-LSC and led Texas A&M Commerce with four interceptions while recording 59 tackles (5.5 for loss), two forced fumbles and four PBUs as a junior.
Pos:
Terrific small-school corner with average size and speed. Rarely challenged by opponents, explosive and shows good hands for the interception. Breaks down well, fluidly moves in every direction and plays with balance and body control. Smooth in his backpedal, quickly tracks the pass in the air and works hard to make plays. Fires up the field to defend the run, goes for the strip and jars the ball loose.
Neg:
Lacks bulk and gets smothered from the action by blocks. Does not always take proper angles. Speed is a major concern.
Analysis:
Sterling-Lowe was a consistent small-school cornerback who could line up in dime packages at the next level. Productive on coverage units in college, he must show special-teams ability this summer to make a roster.
