Conference contests heat up during Week 6 of the college season. While there are no games of national title importance this weekend there are several under-the-radar matchups between lesser-named prospects and those many are familiar with. Here are a few prospect matchups to keep an eye on during Week 6.

Wake Forest vs. Clemson

12 p.m. EST -- ESPN

Just a few weeks ago, we keyed on Mitch Hyatt and his matchup against Harold Landry of Boston College. During the few instances when the star pass rusher lined up across from the Clemson left tackle, it was Hyatt who got the best of the battle.

This week he goes up against unheralded Duke Ejiofor, a Week 5 riser.

Ejiofor is not as explosive off the snap when compared to Landry but is just as agile and probably a little better making plays in space. And that is where he could give Hyatt trouble.

I would expect Hyatt to control Ejiofor once they get locked into blocks, but he may find it tough getting his hands on the shifty Wake Forest defensive end.

Penn State vs. Northwestern

12 p.m. EST -- ABC

Penn State junior running back Saquon Barkley is flying up draft boards. He’s a complete ball carrier who has separated himself from the rest of the pack by a wide margin. As of today, it’s not a stretch to say Barkley grades as a top-three pick.

The Northwestern defense will have its hands full trying to stop or even contain Barkley. Safety Godwin Igwebuike is the Wildcats' best hope.

Igwebuike is an underrated player at the safety position. He’s a terrific run defender who does not get enough credit for his ball skills. He’ll need both to try and contain Barkley.

A big performance tomorrow will result in a big boost in Igwebuike’s draft stock.
