Pos:
College left tackle who projects as a zone-blocking guard in the NFL. Blocks with proper lean, stays square and anchors in pass protection. Explosive at the point, displays good initial strength and gets movement as a run blocker. Fluid when asked to pull across the line of scrimmage, smooth out to the second level and shows the ability to adjust to defenders. Keeps his feet moving and effectively uses his hands. Slides laterally off the edge and is effective in space.
Neg:
Not a natural knee bender and gets tall as the play proceeds. Struggles to finish blocks and often falls off defenders.
Analysis:
Bonner was a terrific left tackle for Arkansas State and has the size and movement skills necessary to move inside to guard in a zone-blocking scheme. He must improve his balance and strength to finish blocks, but he has upside and at the very least should be stashed on a practice squad this fall.
