Bio:
Two-year starter named First Team All-Conference USA in 2016 after making 51 tackles (15 for loss) with 9.5 sacks, which ranked second in the conference. Posted 39 tackles (14.5 for loss) and a conference-best 13 sacks as a junior. Sophomore totals include 31 tackles (nine for loss) and five sacks.
Pos:
Athletic and oftentimes dominant pass rusher who plays with a warrior mentality. Fires off the snap with an explosive first step, plays with outstanding pad level and keeps his feet moving. Fluid, agile and easily bends off the edge. Displays a variety of hand or spin moves to defeat blocks, gets a lot of force up the field and plays relentless football. Immediately alters his angle of attack then pursues the action from the backside. Displays a sneaky inside move and uses all of his assets to their full potential.
Neg:
Lacks great bulk and is easily knocked off balance by the initial block or smothered by opponents. May struggle defending the run at the next level.
Analysis:
Henderson has watched his draft stock move north since his outstanding performance at the Shrine Game and an equally effective combine workout. He must add bulk to his frame but is a terrific athlete who will be used as a situational pass rusher early in his NFL career.
