Bio:
Junior college transfer who started both years with the Beavers. Tied for the team lead with 10 pass breakups in 2016, making 58 tackles with two interceptions and earning Honorable Mention All-Pac-12. Recorded 50 tackles (3.5 for loss), one sack and five pass breakups in 2015, missing two games after being stretchered off the field with a scary injury.
Pos:
Nice-sized college cornerback with possibilities at safety. Plays with an aggressive attitude, displays a good degree of instincts in his game and gives effort. Engages receivers at the line of scrimmage, stays on the opponent’s hip out of breaks and keeps the action in front of him. Plays to his size and physically beats down receivers to defend the pass. Defeats blocks then makes his way up the field to stop the run.
Neg:
Not a forceful blitzer. Stiff pedaling in reverse. Lacks deep speed and will be a liability covering passes downfield.
Analysis:
Decoud was productive the two seasons he played at Oregon State and would do well at the next level as a nickel cornerback or safety in a scheme which allows him to face the action.
