Bio:
Three-year starter at guard who missed the entire 2017 season due to injury. Earned First Team All-GLIAC honors in 2015 and 2016. Started every game at left guard as a junior. Made two starts at center as a sophomore in addition to nine at left guard. Started six games at right guard and five at left guard as a redshirt freshman.
Pos:
Nice-sized small-school lineman best in a small area. Bends his knees, starts low to the ground and fires off the snap into blocks. Relatively quick if asked to kick out, displays outstanding vision as a blocker and always looks for someone to hit. Stays square in pass protection, properly places his hands into defenders and anchors at the point. Strong and turns defenders from the line as a run blocker.
Neg:
Struggles to redirect and adjust to defenders. Bends at the waist and gets tall in motion. Must improve the power in his lower body. Comes off a serious injury.
Analysis:
Richardson has enough ability to bring into camp and could stick on a roster as an inexpensive backup if he improves his technique. At the time of posting, he was appealing to the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility.
