Bio:
Two-year starter who transferred after graduating from Oklahoma in three years. Caught 12 passes for 111 yards and one touchdown in 2016 after making 12 receptions for 83 yards and four scores as a junior. Redshirted with the Sooners in 2012 after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
Pos:
Athletic tight end with an underrated game. Starts with proper knee bend, quickly releases off the line of scrimmage and immediately gets to top speed. Fights with his hands to separate from opponents, adjusts to the errant throw and effectively uses the sidelines. Extends his hands to snatch the ball away from his frame. Displays soft and strong hands. Blocks with solid fundamentals and stays square, working through the whistle.
Neg:
More of a one-speed tight end and lacks deep speed. Misjudges receptions on occasion. Was never a big part of the USC offense. Average blocking strength.
Analysis:
McNamara offers terrific computer numbers and flashed ability the past two seasons at USC. He’s a developmental prospect with potential as a move tight end on Sundays.
