Bio:
First-year starter who made 40 tackles (six for loss) with four sacks as a junior. Started two games and posted 17 tackles (three for loss), one sack and two forced fumbles in 2016. Made one start as a redshirt freshman and recorded 10 tackles.
Pos:
Explosive and incredibly athletic defensive lineman with tremendous upside. Fires off the snap with a tremendous first step, plays with great pad level and easily moves about the field. Quickly changes direction, shows the ability to immediately alter his angle of attack and pursues laterally with speed. Works his hand throughout the action, plays hard and gets a lot of penetration through the gaps to make plays behind the line of scrimmage.
Neg:
Lacks great bulk as well as strength at the point and gets handled by opponents. Easily knocked off balance by the initial hit. Marginal production.
Analysis:
Bryan comes off a career campaign and performed brilliantly at the combine. He offers possibilities as a conventional tackle and three-technique lineman and can even play in a two-gap system. If he improves his strength at the point of attack and his production, Bryan will have a long career at the next level.
