Bio:
Junior college transfer who started his final season at Southern Miss. Named Honorable Mention All-Conference USA and led the team with 87 tackles (three for loss) and three interceptions while forcing one fumble and breaking up 10 passes in 2017. Made 17 tackles and intercepted two passes as a junior.
Pos:
Nice-sized, incredibly athletic safety with a large upside. Remains disciplined with assignments, keeps the action in front of him and does not bite on ball fakes. Explosive, breaks down well and has excellent length. Solid open-field tackler, fires up the field to defend the run and squares into ball carriers. Has an explosive burst to the ball out of his plant, displays good hands for the interception and nicely adjusts and contorts to defend the pass. Fluid in his backpedal and smooth in transition with the ability to flip his hips.
Neg:
Possesses average ball skills. Inefficient and does not always take proper angles to the action.
Analysis:
Moore was graded as a priority free agent by scouts entering the season but turned in a solid senior campaign which was followed by a tremendous pro-day workout, and he now ranks as a last-day pick. He possesses the size and athleticism to play in a variety of systems and should be an asset on special teams.
