Earned Second Team All-Big Sky honors and led the conference with 12 pass breakups while making 48 tackles (five for loss) as a junior. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Sky and led Weber State with 12 pass breakups while recording 44 tackles and two interceptions in 2015. Pos:
Athletic cornerback with next-level size. Quick flipping his hips in transition, fluid in reverse and effectively tracks the pass in the air. Gets a jump on the ball out of his plant, displays a closing burst and plays physical football. Instinctive, properly reads and diagnoses the action and throws his body around the field to make plays. Mixes it up with receivers throughout the action and gives effort against the run.
Neg:
Inefficient and takes unnecessary steps to the action. Loses out to bigger receivers. Lacks a true second gear.
Analysis:
Johnson was a productive four-year player at the small-school level and possesses the athleticism and ball skills to line up in nickel situations. Most effective facing the action, he can be used in zone or backed off the line of scrimmage.
