Bio:
Four-year starter who earned First Team All-MEAC honors in all four seasons with the Bulldogs. Was awarded First Team All-America honors from Walter Camp and Second Team All-America honors from the AFCA. Finished his senior year with 212 rush attempts for 1,588 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Pos:
Small but elusive ball carrier with the ability to create yardage. Quick-footed, easily cuts back against the grain without losing momentum and shows a burst through the hole. Sees the field, sets up defenders then makes them miss. Runs low to the ground, gets lost behind blockers then picks and chooses his way on the inside. Multi-cut ball carrier with the ability to slice between defenders and pick up the difficult yardage. Very quick in the first five yards, displays the speed and agility necessary to turn the corner and beats defenders into the open field. Runs hard and plays bigger than his listed size. Outstanding open-field ball carrier. Helps the quarterback sell ball fakes.
Neg:
Lacks size and is easily brought down at the point by a single defender. Gives effort as a blocker but gets overrun by opponents. Average pass catcher out of the backfield who isn’t a true downfield threat.
Analysis:
Despite his size limitations Cohen plays big football and gives effort. He’s a situational ball carrier at the next level who would help his chances by showing return skills in camp this summer.
