Bio:
One-year starter who rushed for 334 yards and two touchdowns on 77 carries in 2016. Tore his ACL in the 2015 season opener and missed the remainder of the season. Started 10 games as a sophomore and carried 175 times for 889 yards and six scores. Made two starts as a true freshman in 2013 and finished the season with 88 carries for 470 yards and three touchdowns.
Pos:
Nice-sized ball carrier who had a very inconsistent college career. Quick-footed and displays the ability to bounce around piles or defenders. Effectively uses blocks, keeps his feet moving and is always working to pick up positive yardage. Helps the quarterback sell ball fakes, sees the blitz and squares into defenders.
Neg:
One-speed ball carrier with an average burst. Has a history of injuries. Never cemented the starting job on a consistent basis at Notre Dame and was marginally productive.
Analysis:
Folston entered the season stamped as a potential second-day prospect, a ranking which was never justified in our opinion. He possesses the size and speed to play at the next level but has a streaky game. Folston must start producing on a consistent basis to ever see action on Sundays.
