Pos:
Average-sized linebacker with a terrific head for the game. Instinctive, remains disciplined with assignments and shows great recognition. Crashes up field defending the run, sells out to make plays and wraps up ball carriers. Efficient, takes good angles to the action and keeps plays in front of him. Stays with coverage assignments and shows good change of direction as well as lateral speed in pursuit.
Neg:
Average size and struggles taking on blocks. Lacks great quickness and long speed.
Analysis:
Vallejo is a defender who makes plays with his head and heart more so then with athleticism. He offers potential as a fifth or sixth linebacker on a roster and comes with a special-teams mentality.
