Bio:
Three-year starter who completed 57.5 percent of his passes for 3,143 yards, 23 touchdowns and 16 interceptions as a junior in his lone season as Nebraska’s starting quarterback. Earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl after declining to take advantage of the sixth year of eligibility he was granted after sitting out the 2016 campaign upon transferring from Tulane. Combined to make 19 starts for the Green Wave and threw for 3,601 yards, 23 touchdowns and 21 interceptions after redshirting in 2013.
Pos:
Big-armed quarterback with an inconsistent game. Patient in the pocket, buys time and takes big hits to get the throw away. Remains poised as the pocket collapses around him and can make all the throws. Displays a sense of timing, makes some incredible passes and nicely places the ball into the receiver’s hands. Sets up with proper footwork and has a nice throwing delivery. Sells ball fakes. Puts touch on throws when necessary.
Neg:
Rarely moves his head from the primary target. Sprays passes and often misses wide-open receivers. Often makes pass catchers work too hard for receptions, and many of his completions are better catches than throws. Inconsistent with his reads and makes a lot of poor decisions. Often puts the ball up for grabs and forces passes to covered targets.
Analysis:
The well-traveled Lee was hyped for his inaugural season at Nebraska but failed to live up to the billing. After his poor campaign in 2017, Lee displayed flashes during Senior Bowl practices but little consistency. He possesses the size and arm strength to play at the next level but needs work on his overall game and must show he has what it takes between the ears to make it as an NFL quarterback.
