Bio:
Three-year starter who led the Cougars with 1,070 receiving yards as a senior, catching 76 passes and three touchdowns and being named Honorable Mention All-AAC. Made 53 receptions for 692 yards and five scores in 2016. Caught 31 passes for 382 yards and three TDs as a sophomore. Appeared in 13 games (one start) as a true freshman and made 20 receptions for 286 yards.
Pos:
Underrated pass catcher with next-level size and receiving skills. Displays quickness, fires into pass routes and comes back to the quarterback to make himself an available target. Easily adjusts to errant throws, makes difficult over-the-shoulder receptions and easily tracks the pass in the air. Gets vertical to high point passes over opponents and plays big football. Consistently extends his hands to make receptions away from his frame and wins out in battles. Displays a sense of timing.
Neg:
Lacks a quick release off the line of scrimmage, plays to one speed and does not get deep separation.
Analysis:
Dunbar was not rated by scouts entering the season but after showing progress the prior three years, he’s now on the radar as a potential late-round pick. He’s a possession wideout who wins out for contested throws but will have difficulty separating at the next level.
