Led the team in rushing with 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns on 219 carries and made 26 receptions for 270 yards and three TDs in 2015. Rushed for 410 yards and five scores on 64 carries as a true freshman.
Pos:
Quick, explosive ball carrier with potential as a feature back at the next level. Displays speed, agility and the ability to easily turn the perimeter. Easily cuts back against the grain without losing speed, strings several moves together over the course of a single run and gets a lot of momentum going. Tough to bring down, runs north and south and displays burst through the hole. Finds running lanes, beats defenders into the open field and can run to daylight. Plays faster than his 40 time. Patient, displays outstanding vision and instincts and shows great anticipation of blocks. Terrific pass catcher out of the backfield, adjusts to errant throws and snatches the ball in stride. Sees the blitz, quickly gets into blocks and squares into defenders.
Neg:
Occasionally wastes too much motion going east and west. Not a truly creative ball carrier. Ability to handle complex offenses is a concern.
Analysis:
Michel was a tremendous college back who did a sensational job in his role as a rotational runner at Georgia. He possesses the physical skills to be a big-time player at the next level but must prove he can handle the ball on an every-down basis and handle the complex mental responsibilities of the NFL.
