Bio:
Two-year starter who earned First Team All-Southland honors and led Southeastern Louisiana with 19 tackles for loss and nine sacks while adding 80 tackles, two forced fumbles and one interception in 2017. Named Second Team All-Southland and led the team with 8.5 tackles for loss and four sacks while recording 29 tackles despite missing three games with a torn MCL. Transferred from LSU after being suspended for a violation of team rules.
Pos:
Athletic linebacker with tremendous size and speed for the next level. Rarely off his feet, breaks down well and effectively uses his hands. Forceful up the field, knocks blockers off the line and gets penetration. Plays with balance and body control and consistently blows up plays behind the line of scrimmage. Fluid and smooth, easily changes direction and shows speed to every area on the field. Covers a good amount of area and quickly gets to the action.
Neg:
Must improve his backpedal and work on his pass drops. Slow to get off blocks despite his size. Comes off a disappointing season.
Analysis:
Teuhema was graded as a legitimate fourth-round prospect by scouts entering the year but did not live up to expectations in 2017. He possesses the size and athleticism to be used at multiple linebacker positions in a variety of defensive schemes but must really up his game and start to do the little things well.
