Bio:
Three-year starter who rushed for 751 yards and two touchdowns on 138 carries in 2016. Skipped the team’s bowl game to begin preparation for the NFL Draft. Named Second Team All-Big 12 as a junior after amassing 1,329 yards on the ground -- which ranked fifth in the Big 12 -- and adding 10 touchdowns but missed Baylor’s bowl game with a foot injury. Earned First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2014, carrying 251 times for 1,252 yards and 16 touchdowns, ranking second to Oklahoma’s Samaje Perine in all three categories. Started twice as a freshman, earning Freshman All-American honors after rushing for 881 yards and eight scores on 128 carries.
Pos:
Productive college running back coming off a disappointing season. Possesses vision as well as short-area quickness with the ability to make defenders miss or turn the perimeter. Has a burst through the hole, keeps his feet moving and breaks arm tackles or falls forward when tackled. Plays bigger than his listed size and picks up yardage off initial contact.
Neg:
Average pass catcher out of the backfield. Not a quick cutback runner. Gets in trouble when he tries to run east and west. One-speed ball carrier.
Analysis:
Linwood was a productive ball carrier in Baylor’s spread offense but is one-dimensional and lacks next-level size/speed numbers.
