Bio:
Two-year starter who earned Second Team All-AAC honors in 2016 after leading Central Florida with four interceptions and an conference-leading 15 pass breakups while making 50 tackles (three for loss). Recorded 50 tackles with two interceptions and 13 pass breakups as a junior. Combined for 25 tackles and one interception in his first two seasons at UCF.
Pos:
Athletic cornerback with terrific ball skills and an underrated game. Plays with a large degree of quickness, displays a sense of timing and competes to break up passes. Quick and fluid pedaling in reverse, mixes it up with receivers throughout the route and competes to break up the throw. Shows a burst to the ball out of his plant, quickly closes to the action and is a hard hitter. Physical and works to defend the run. Stays with receivers out of breaks and consistently gets a hand in to knock away passes.
Neg:
Occasionally does a bit of face-guarding and can be slow getting his head back around. Does not always play to his 40 time.
Analysis:
Griffin was a solid cornerback on the college level since his sophomore season and possesses the size, athleticism and overall ability to line up in nickel packages. He would be best in zone coverage or backed off the line of scrimmage.
