Scouting the MAC: Toledo

Toledo may not have the most draftable players in the conference, but on my board they have the highest-rated prospect in the MAC.

Junior Olasunkanmi Adeniyi terrorizes opposing quarterbacks and consistently blows up plays behind the line of scrimmage. He’s explosive off the edge, plays with speed and forces the action from every direction. Adeniyi occasionally stands over tackle and though he loses an edge rushing the passer, he can effectively and play in space off the line of scrimmage.

As is the case with any underclassmen, size and speed numbers are critical but the ability to consistently disrupt the action will make Adeniyi highly sought-after once he’s available in the draft.

Ja'Wuan Woodley is an undersized linebacker, but the senior is a terrific defender who makes plays sideline to sideline while showing ability in space. He reminds me of former Ohio linebacker Blair Brown.

Toledo has a pair of receiver prospects with junior Jon'Vea Johnson the better of the two. Johnson is quick, reliable and sneaky fast.

Senior Cody Thompson is also dependable but has average size for a possession wideout.
