Scouting the MAC - Miami (Ohio)

Looking at our board, it doesn’t appear the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks will have a player selected in next year’s draft. There are a few players from the program who will be signed as UDFAs with a chance to make NFL squads, however.

Linebacker Junior McMullen is an athletic defender who moves around the field and forces the action. He has marginal instincts and is a late reactor, which limits the type of schemes he’ll fit.

Last year we raved about receiver James Gardner, but I did not see much improvement in his game in 2017. He’s a big-bodied wideout with limited speed and quickness. As we saw in April’s draft with players like Allen Lazard, Simmie Cobbs and Jacob Wieneke, those types of receivers have a tendency to fall in the draft and fall hard.
