Texas Tech’s wide-open air attack has led to primarily players from the offensive side of the ball being drafted. In fact, the last time a defensive prospect was drafted out of Texas Tech was 2014. Heading towards 2019, however, their top prospect is a linebacker from the junior class.

Jordyn Brooks is very much what teams are looking for at the linebacker position these days -- a slightly undersized defender with great quickness and terrific playing speed.

Brooks is fast moving to every direction of the field, covers a tremendous amount of area and easily makes plays sideline to sideline. He’s a tackling machine who’ll be very effective on the inside of a 3-4 alignment.

Madison Akamnonu is a nice-sized guard who uses his girth and strength to out-position opponents from the action. He flashes ability in motion and shows a good feel for his position.
