Scouting the Big 12 - TCU

The Horned Frogs have been well represented in the NFL Draft the past dozen years, including a good number of first and second-day picks. Next April, it looks as though there will be mostly last-day selections from the program.

Ben Banogu is a solid college pass rusher who projects as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level. He comes with terrific size and speed and shows a lot of agility in his game as well as the ability to disrupt the action.

What Banogu needs is more consistency, as he’s a bit streaky. He’s the one player from TCU who could break into the top 100 picks with a big season and solid workouts before the draft.

Ty Summers is another with next-level measurables who must transition his athletic ability into football production. Summers shows great intensity and solid instincts but must make more plays.

Keep an eye on Jawuan Johnson, the former Northern Illinois product who made the jump to TCU as a graduate transfer. Johnson is overlooked in the scouting community but is very much the undersized, explosive, run-and-chase linebacker teams want in the NFL today.
