Scouting the Big 10 - Indiana

The Hoosiers had a pair of players drafted last April, starting with tight end Ian Thomas, a fourth-round selection of the Carolina Panthers. The top IU prospects on our board are a pair of underclassmen blockers.

Simon Stepaniak is an athletic offensive lineman who moves well in space and shows ability blocking in motion. I like his footwork and ability to pull across the line of scrimmage as well as his upside.

Center Hunter Littlejohn is a shorter, leverage blocker with outstanding quickness and explosion. He plays smart, tough football and only needs to improve his strength and learn to finish blocks.

Keep an eye on Nick Linder, the former Miami Hurricane who transferred to IU. We had Linder highly ranked at one point before an onslaught of injuries slowed his development.

Safety Jonathan Crawford is presently graded as a Day 3 prospect by a number of scouts. The senior is a hard-hitting run defender who takes good angles to the action. He displays solid instincts, but his coverage skills need a lot of work.
