Scouting the Big 10 - Illinois

Draft Analyst Writer

It’s been a tough go of it for the Fighting Illini, on the field and in NFL war rooms. They did not have a single player selected in last April’s draft, something that is likely to be repeated next year.

The prospects on the depth chart are few and far between.

Nicholas Allegretti is a versatile lineman who comes with nice size and the ability to play center or guard. A limited athlete, he has marginal upside but could back up in the right system.

Michael Dudek is a tough and dependable receiver with a long history of season-ending injuries. Though a nice story, he comes with average size and speed and will be medically red-flagged.

Keep an eye on receiver Shaedon Meadors, a graduate transfer who impressed me on a number of occasions when he played for Appalachian State.
