Scouting the AAC - Temple

After years of futility, Temple has turned its program into a consistent winner and has put a lot of talent into the NFL. That trend will continue in the coming years, as I gave four Owls draftable grades with another nine stamped as undrafted free agents.

Eight of those nine prospects could move into the middle or late rounds if they elevate their play.

Quarterback Anthony Russo is someone I really like. He’s more of a traditional pocket passer but comes with nice size, a strong arm and a good head for the position. Russo also has big upside, and looking at the developing core of Temple receivers, I see big things ahead for him.

Most scouts grade Sam Franklin ahead of Shaun Bradley, but I disagree.

Franklin has the size advantage over his teammate, but I love Bradley’s quickness, speed and ability to close on the ball carrier. He’s very much what we see in the NFL these days at linebacker -- a slightly smaller defender who can get from point A to point B in the shortest of time spans.
