Scouting the AAC: Houston

The Cougars have had a player selected in the first or second round every year since 2016. Next year they may not have a single prospect chosen in any of the seven rounds.

Inside/middle linebacker Matt Adams is the team’s top prospect as he’s a tough, in-the-box defender. The senior is a bit short (6-foot) and more of a two-down player, which will hurt his appeal.

I think receiver Steven Dunbar is slightly underrated and not mentioned enough in scouting circles. The senior has above average size and dependable hands. He’s not a burner but wins out for contested throws.

Another productive season coupled with 40 times in the mid 4.5s will give Dunbar late-round consideration in 2018.
