Bio:
Three-year starter who made 19 receptions for 306 yards and three touchdowns as a junior. Caught 19 passes for 227 yards and one score in 2016. Made 14 receptions for 210 yards and two TDs as a redshirt freshman.
Pos:
Solid pass-catching tight end who shows athleticism. Plays smart, tough football, blocks with proper fundamentals and has enough strength to knock defenders from their angles of attack. Tracks the pass in the air, adjusts to errant throws and grabs passes away from his frame. Dependable pass catcher who uses his frame to shield away opponents and shows ability after the catch. Quickly releases off the line into pass routes. Makes difficult catches in a crowd.
Neg:
Plays like a one-speed tight end and does not show burst. Not a big-bodied player at the position and struggles to get movement blocking.
Analysis:
Izzo was a solid player at the college level but lacks any outstanding element to his game. He catches the ball well, gives effort blocking and has enough ability to make a roster as the second or third man on the depth chart.
