Bio:
Two-year starter who earned Second Team All-SEC honors and tied for the team lead with 74 tackles (4.5 for loss) while posting three interceptions, 2.5 sacks and four pass breakups as a junior. Made 85 tackles with two interceptions and seven PBUs in 2016. Posted 17 tackles, two INTs, one sack, one forced fumble and six pass breakups as a true freshman.
Pos:
Tough run-defending safety with solid ball skills. Smart, instinctive and disciplined. Effectively diagnoses the action, takes proper angles to plays and gives effort in all areas. Wraps up tackling and brings defenders down in the open field. Effective facing the action, stays on the receiver’s hip out of breaks and shows good hands for the interception. Sells out to make tackles.
Neg:
Slow to turn and run with opponents when lined up over the slot receiver. Does not show enough lateral speed to run with receivers on crossing patterns.
Analysis:
Harrison is a tough, physical defensive back with the athleticism and skills to start as a strong safety or in a zone system.
