Bio:
Junior college transfer who turned into a three-year starter at left tackle for the Lobos. Earned Second Team All-Mountain West honors in 2016.
Pos:
Underrated college left tackle who projects to guard at the next level. Quick off the snap, explodes into blocks and shows strength at the point. Bends his knees, blocks with outstanding leverage and fires out to the second level. Stays square sealing opponents from the action, rides defenders from the play and nicely adjusts to knock pass rushers from their angles of attack. Effective with his hands, blocks with excellent leverage and plays through the whistle.
Neg:
Lacks lower-body strength and does not get a lot of movement run blocking. Doesn’t possess great bulk.
Analysis:
Henderson was a consistent three-year starter at left tackle for New Mexico and possesses all the makings of a zone-blocking guard at the next level. Despite being ignored by scouts entering the season he could slide into the late rounds of the draft, and if focused on his game, Henderson could end up on an active roster this fall as a backup.
