Bio: 
First-year starter who was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and led the nation with 2,248 rushing yards while adding a conference-high 23 rushing TDs on 289 carries in 2017. Earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl. Named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016 and returned a combined five kickoffs for TDs in those two seasons. Rushed 136 times for 1,018 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 224 yards and three TDs as a junior. Carried 61 times for 368 yards and four scores in 2015.
Pos: 
Nice-sized ball carrier with tremendous upside. Athletic, quickly gets to top speed and keeps his feet moving on contact. Displays outstanding vision, effectively uses blocks everywhere on the field and runs with authority. Shows burst through the hole, possesses the agility to turn the corner and plays with an aggressive style. Resilient, consistently runs north and south and falls forward when tackled.
Neg: 
Not an overly quick or creative ball carrier. Lacks shiftiness. Does not break a lot of tackles.
Analysis: 
Penny possesses the size, athleticism and overall skill to be a productive ball carrier at the next level. He’s displayed an improving game and comes with big upside.
