Bio:
Three-year starter who was named AAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 after completing 62.5 percent of his passes for 2,812 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing 198 times for 1,530 yards and 18 scores. His 42 touchdowns that season set a new conference record. Earned Second Team All-AAC as a senior and totaled 36 touchdowns (11 rushing) despite watching his completion percentage dip to 53.1. Won the starting job before his sophomore season, posted 34 total touchdowns (12 rushing) and passed for 2,290 yards. Holds the AAC’s all-time record for career total offense with 11,802 yards.
Pos:
College quarterback likely to switch to running back at the next level. Elusive, displays himself as an escape artist and picks up yardage with his legs when seemingly nothing is available. Possesses a strong arm and easily gets the ball downfield with a flick of his wrist. Does not make poor choices as a passer. Creative ball carrier on designed runs and displays the ability to slip off defenders and pick up positive yardage.
Neg:
Stares down the primary target, can be slow to pull the trigger and makes receivers wait on the ball. Often all over the place with throws.
Analysis:
Flowers did a tremendous job leading South Florida but lacks the accuracy and desired size to play quarterback at the next level. His quickness and creativity carrying the ball are intriguing, and he should be given a chance at running back this summer.
