Clemson vs. Miami

ABC - 8 p.m. EST

The Hurricanes look to bounce back after an unexpected loss a week ago that knocked them from playoff contention. Clemson is one of the best-coached teams in the nation and offers the best defensive line in the nation, which possesses four great NFL prospects.

For Miami to have any chance in this game, they must slow down Clemson’s dominant defensive line which lines up four potential first-round picks -- three who’ll be in next April’s draft.

Several scouts graded Christian Wilkins as the top NFL prospect entering the season regardless of position, and he’s met expectations. Wilkins has been a force in every way possible -- making plays behind the line of scrimmage, out in space or holding the point.

We presently grade Wilkins No. 2 on our board just behind another ACC defender, Bradley Chubb. Everything I’ve heard tells me Wilkins will make himself available for next April’s draft.

Ditto for Clelin Ferrell, who ranks sixth on our big board. Ferrell is not as stout at the point compared to Wilkins but is a better pass rusher and is a bit more versatile.

Finally, Austin Bryant is in the midst of a sensational season and his draft stock is taking off. Should Bryant enter the draft, workouts are critical, as scouts question his speed and athleticism.

Among the Hurricanes charged with stopping Clemson’s front four is senior KC McDermott.

Not rated by scouts entering the season, McDermott has played well this season and will be a solid last-day selection. He’s a smart and tough position blocker with growth potential. He lines up at left tackle for the Hurricanes but projects to guard at the next level.

Much the same can be said for Trevor Darling. Ignored by scouts entering the season, Darling has developed into an undrafted free agent with an outside chance of sliding into the late rounds.
