There were large crowds of personnel people from NFL teams in the city of San Diego today, and they were on hand for two separate workouts. Here’s what we’ve got thus far.

San Diego State

Almost the entire league was represented at SDSU's pro day.

Defensive back Kameron Kelly timed between 4.55 and 4.61 today, much better than his combine number of 4.66. Teams like Kelly’s length and versatility to line up at cornerback or safety.

Running back Rashaad Penny stood on his combine numbers but looked good in position drills and fielding punts today.

Teams were unable to meet with Penny last night, as the senior is on pace to graduate this May and was in class -- a lab actually -- Wednesday evening.

Penny interviewed with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, and the team is also bringing him in for an official visit. His other official-30 visits include the Tampa Bay Bucs, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.

San Diego

While the media was focused on the return of quarterback Johnny Manziel, scouts were on hand primarily to watch Toreros tight end Ross Dwelley, a Week 6 riser.

Dwelley measured 6046 and 241 pounds, timed 4.9 in the 40 and touched 27.5 inches in the vertical jump. Dwelley, who plays much faster than he times, interviewed with the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans today. The San Francisco 49ers are coming in next week to work him out privately.
