Teams assembled in eastern Tennessee for the Vanderbilt pro day, and the program's top prospect did not disappoint and improved on his combine performance.

Cornerback JoeJuan Williams, who timed 4.64 at the combine, recorded a 4.55 laser time in the 40 today, a significant improvement. His other marks included 6.84 in the three-cone and 4.07 in the short shuttle as well as a vertical jump of 36 inches and a broad which measured 10-foot-6.

Williams, who had dinner with the San Diego Chargers last night, looked good in position drills, which were run by the Tennessee Titans.

Why was Williams so much faster in barely a week's time? I’m told he struggled with his starts at the combine, which can be seen on film, and was able to get out of the blocks today with little trouble.

Fellow defensive back LaDarius Wiley also performed well. Not invited to the combine, the safety measured 6011 and 209 pounds and timed under 4.6 in the 40 and under 6.9 in the three-cone.

The San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans spent a good amount of time with Wiley during the day.

Defensive lineman Dare Odeyingbo also turned some heads.

The senior, who measures around 6015 and 279 pounds, clocked anywhere between 4.85 and 4.88 in the 40. Last week during the regional combine in Kansas City, he posted a 10-yard split of 1.69, and today I’m told that time was slightly faster.

His other marks included short shuttle times which ranged between 4.37 and 4.88, a three-cone in the 7.2s and 22 reps on the bench.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers have shown interest in Odeyingbo.

Finally offensive tackle Justin Skule, who looked terrific during Shrine Game practices, measured 6065 and 321 pounds, timed 5.23 in the 40 and 4.69 in the short shuttle.
