Bio:
Two-year starter who was awarded All-Patriot League honors in 2015. Holds the Fordham record for most touchdowns in a season by a tight end (seven). Finished his career with 56 receptions for 740 yards and nine touchdowns.
Pos:
Tall, athletic small-school tight end with an inconsistent game. Works to bend his knees, plays with leverage and quickly gets into blocks. Squares into opponents, shows explosiveness at the point and seals defends from the action. Moves well around the field and nicely contorts in midair or adjusts to grab the errant pass. Displays soft and strong hands, showing the ability to pluck the ball from the air. Effective running after the reception.
Neg:
Lazily releases into pass routes on occasion. Decelerates into blocks rather than driving through them. Average blocking vision and awareness. Long strider who does not play to his reported 40 time. Drops a lot of catchable throws.
Analysis:
Odom is an imposing figure who possesses the measurables to be a No. 1 tight end at the next level but at times looks like nothing more than roster fodder. He offers great upside but is a prospect who must quickly pull the pieces together to secure a spot on a practice squad this fall.
