Pos:
Tough, intelligent quarterback best in the short and intermediate passing game. Patient in the pocket, goes through progressions and finds the open wideout. Buys time for receivers, displays a great sense of what’s happening on the field and senses the rush. Effectively reads the defense, throws with an over-the-top delivery and displays good timing on throws. Stands in the pocket and takes big hits to get the ball away. Elusive with the ability to scramble away from defenders and make throws on the move.
Neg:
Lacks a next-level arm and cannot drive deep throws. More of a dink-and-dunk passer.
Analysis:
Pujals was a playmaker at the small-school level who has the ability to improvise when plays break down. His playmaking ability is attractive and could help him snatch a roster spot as a team’s third quarterback.
