Bio:
Three-year starter who earned First Team All-Mountain West honors and led the conference with 3,799 passing yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior while completing 61.9 percent of his passes and throwing 10 interceptions. Named Honorable Mention All-Mountain West and led the conference with a 64.2 percent completion rate in 2016, throwing for 1,936 yards and 19 touchdowns despite being benched after a poor performance to open the season. Earned Second Team All-Mountain West honors and led the conference with 21 touchdown passes as a sophomore.
Pos:
Strong-armed pocket passer who must improve his accuracy. Displays excellent field awareness and vision, has a sense of timing and does not make receivers wait on the throw. Patient, in tune with pass catchers and puts touch on throws when necessary. Remains poised as the pocket collapses around him.
Neg:
Must improve his fade and corner patterns. The further downfield or out to the flanks he throws the ball, the less accurate he is. Won’t pick up much yardage as a runner.
Analysis:
Stevens was not graded coming into the season but has turned himself into a prospect after a solid senior campaign. He needs work on his game but may get practice-squad consideration this fall.
