wo-year starter after transferring as a graduate from Tennessee. Led the highest-scoring offense in Pitt history, throwing for 2,855 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions and ranking fourth nationally with 15.43 yards per completion. Racked up 2,287 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2015 and ranked second in the ACC in completion percentage (61.5%).
Nice-sized quarterback with a good feel for the position. Patient, buys as much time as necessary for receivers and goes through progressions. Displays a sense of timing, doesn’t make pass catchers wait on the ball and goes to check-down receivers if necessary. Gets outside the pocket to avoid the rush, keeps his eyes downfield and isn’t afraid to challenge in the vertical game. Makes proper decisions, tosses the ball away rather than passing to covered targets and does not make many errant throws. Consistently fools defenders with ball fakes.
Puts a lot of effort into throws trying to get speed on the ball. Wild down the field or out to the flanks. Struggles with his accuracy throwing on the move.
Peterman was solid on the college level and showed flashes of ability but lacks the big-time arm and accuracy in the long field or on the deep out. He understands the position and should be an asset as a clipboard holder/spot starter.
