Bio: 
Three-year starter and senior captain named Third Team All-American in 2016, finishing second on the team with 74 tackles in 2016 while adding four interceptions and eight pass breakups. Was suspended for Nebraska’s bowl game after being ruled academically ineligible and was also suspended for the senior opener. Earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten as both a sophomore and a junior. Started three games at linebacker as a freshman.

Explosive and aggressive safety best between the numbers. Effectively reads or diagnoses the action, quick up the field defending running plays or screen passes and aggressive. Goes after ball handlers driving his shoulders through the tackle and wraps up at the point of attack. Picks up coverage assignments, displays good recognition when the balls in the air and opportunistic. Fluid changing direction and displays top quickness in the first five yards.
Neg: 
Does not show great range or the ability to quickly get out to the sidelines. One speed defender that cannot recover from mistakes and does a lot of catching up down the field.
Analysis: 
Gerry is a hard-hitting defender who could lineup in a zone system or as a traditional strong safety.
