Pos:
Explosive, hard-hitting safety who is developing a complete game. Instinctive, keeps the action in front of him and plays smart football. Efficient, plays within the system and takes proper angles to the action. Physical, works hard to get involved in the action and works well with teammates. Explosive, has an excellent burst of closing speed and shows a lot of suddenness. Remains disciplined with assignments, does not bite on ball fakes or get caught out of position and has quick recognition ability. Fires up the field and gives effort against running plays and screen passes. Squares into ball carriers and drives through tackles. Contorts to defend and intercept the pass and displays good hands for the pick. Moves well laterally and works hard to get involved in the action.
Neg:
Not a real powerful or stout safety. Lacks long speed and may be a liability in deep coverage. Too grabby at times.
Analysis:
Adderley was very productive and possesses a well-rounded game as a run defender and in coverage. He lacks elite speed and may not be a true free safety, but he offers possibilities in a zone system or as a traditional strong safety. Adderley may need a little bit of time to get accustomed to the competition at the next level, but he offers a high upside and could eventually develop into a starter.
