Large, athletic defensive tackle prospect who dominates the action when focused on the task at hand. Explosive, effectively plays with proper pad level and can be an overwhelming force in the middle of the field. Fires off the snap with a terrific first step, sheds blocks with ease and makes plays on the ball handler. Displays a degree of suddenness, flashes pass rush skill and shows the necessary agility to slide off blocks then make plays on the ball carrier. Squares and wraps up tackling. Can be a load to handle, does not give up an inch to opponents and attracts double-team blocks. Flashes the ability to get outside the box and make plays in pursuit.
All too often controlled by lesser opponents or gets stood up at the line of scrimmage. Does not keep his feet moving. Runs hot and cold.
When focused Adams is a dominant game changer in the middle of the line yet all too often flips the switch off and is nonexistent. He’s a prospect with a high upside that could go on to a long and productive NFL career but comes with equal amounts of risk and could be a player who moves from team to team without making the smallest of impacts.
