Bio:
Three-year starter who played left tackle his final two seasons at Notre Dame. Earned First Team AP All-America honors in 2017 and Third Team AP All-America honors in 2016. Started all 13 games at right tackle as a sophomore.
Pos:
Tough, slug-it-out left tackle who may be best on the right side at the next level. Strong, stays square and controls opponents once engaged at the point of attack. Keeps his feet moving, effectively uses his hands and blocks with a wide base. Explodes off the snap into blocks, jolts defenders with terrific hand punch and turns them from the action. Nasty and works to finish off opponents. Makes exceptional use of angles and body positioning to seal defenders from the play.
Neg:
Lacks agility, struggles to adjust and does not play like a top athlete. Limited effectiveness at the second level. Gets tall as the play proceeds.
Analysis:
McGlinchey was a terrific college left tackle who has the size, strength and attitude to eventually start on the right side at the next level.
