Bio:
First-year starter who played two seasons at Minnesota after transferring from junior college. Made 15 tackles (three for loss) with 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2017. Posted eight tackles (two for loss) and one sack as a junior. Played three seasons at Iowa Western before joining the Golden Gophers.
Pos:
Quick, explosive nose tackle prospect with a small body of work. Tough to handle, plays with proper pad level and fires off the snap. Displays solid movement skills for a big man, keeps his feet moving and gets a lot of momentum going up the field. Powerful in his lower body, bull rushes opponents off the line and consistently plays with leverage. Nicely redirects to the ball carrier and shows solid change of direction.
Neg:
Inconsistent with his hand use. Does not display a lot of moves getting off blocks and is easily handled at the point. Minimal production.
Analysis:
Jackson has shown flashes of next-level ability the past two seasons, but he never really progressed on the field the way I thought possible. He has the size and power to line up as a zero-technique nose tackle but must improve every aspect of his game to make an NFL roster.
