Bio:
Three-year starter who earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors and led the conference with 4,904 passing yards while completing 65 percent of his passes for 37 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2017. Named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 and posted a 63.4 completion rate, 4,091 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and four INTs as a junior. Completed 62.3 percent of his passes for 3,770 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine picks in 2015. Made three starts as a true freshman and threw for 853 yards and six TDs.
Pos:
Incredibly productive college passer who needs a lot of work before he’s NFL-ready. Patient in the pocket, buys as much time as necessary and does not make poor choices or bad throws. Keeps his feet active, senses pressure and steps up to avoid defenders. Throws with an over-the-top delivery, puts speed on his short and intermediate passes and displays the ability to get the ball through tight spots. Stands strong in the pocket, naturally looks off the safety and takes big hits to get passes away. Remains poised, quickly releases the ball and shows the ability to throw beautiful passes on occasion.
Neg:
Can be all over the place with his throws. Usually high of the mark when he misses. Not always on the same page as receivers and often way off the mark. Holds the ball too long in the pocket and makes receivers work hard to come away with catches. Must improve his footwork on his drops. Inaccurate throws lead to a loss of opportunity for receivers.
Analysis:
Rudolph was incredibly productive in the Oklahoma State passing offense and did a great job leading the team from his freshman season on. He’s a hard-working, high-character prospect who is presently overrated, but he’s worth the investment of a mid-round pick for future development.
