Junior college transfer who became a two-year starter for the Gamecocks. Posted 48 tackles (5.5 for loss) and 1.5 sacks in 2016. Made 45 tackles (4.5 for loss) with three sacks and led South Carolina with six quarterback hurries as a junior in 2015.
Nice-sized college defensive end coming off a disappointing campaign. Moves well about the field, plays with good lean and consistently gets leverage on opponents. Covers a lot of area, chases the action and shows a burst of speed moving to every area. Quick off the snap, fast up the field and can bend off the edge.
Possesses more of a short burst of speed which he does not sustain. Was a non-factor in many games last season. Easily taken from the action by a single blocker or sealed from the play.
During his first season playing for South Carolina in 2015, Lewis showed flashes of dominance but never capitalized on his performance. He moves towards the draft with a lot of question marks but could end up on a practice squad after a productive summer.
