Bio:
Two-year starter who earned Second Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2016 and tied for second in the conference with five interceptions, adding 64 tackles and three pass breakups. Named First Team All-Pac-12 as a sophomore, again finishing second in the Pac-12 with five interceptions and recording 66 tackles and five pass breakups. Made six starts as a freshman and finished with 59 tackles.
Pos:
Athletic safety whose draft stock has been on a straight shot north for the past eight months. Fluid moving in every direction, displays excellent range and quickly gets out to the flanks to assist cornerbacks. Displays a closing burst both in a straight line and laterally, easily changes direction and works to get involved in the play. Tough run defender who squares into ball carriers and wraps up. Plays with a nice degree of discipline. Makes a lot of athletic plays on the field, gets vertical and contorts or adjusts to defend the throw. Works to keep the play in front of him.
Neg:
Inefficient and does not take proper angles to the action. Has a tendency to face-guard in man situations.
Analysis:
Williams displayed steady progress in his game and is an athletic safety prospect who could see extensive action at the next level in a system where he consistently faces the action.
