Bio:
Four-year starter who earned First Team All-PSAC honors in each of those seasons and received an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game. Left Slippery Rock as the all-time Division II leader with 56 sacks and 92.5 tackles for loss. Made 82 tackles (26.5 for loss) with 15.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2017. Posted 64 tackles (18.5 for loss) and nine sacks as a junior. Recorded 88 tackles (25 for loss), 15.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in 2015. Made 68 tackles (22.5 for loss) and set a PSAC record with 16 sacks as a redshirt freshman.
Pos:
Solid small-school pass rusher who may change positions at the next level. Fires off the snap with a quick first step, works his hands throughout the action and rarely gets knocked off his feet. Explosive at the point of attack, displays good change of direction and plays with balance and body control. Remains disciplined with assignments and gives effort.
Neg:
Small and controlled by a single blocker. Marginally effective in space.
Analysis:
Martin was a productive small schooler who did not establish himself during practices for the Shrine Game. He’s a nickel pass rusher at the next level and will also be given looks at fullback but must stand out on special teams to make it out of camp.
