Two-year starter who was named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 and led Oregon with 97 tackles (six for loss) and two interceptions while breaking up four passes as a senior. Recorded 83 tackles (three for loss), one interception and four PBUs in 2016. Made 43 tackles with one interception as a sophomore.
Pos:
Hard-working linebacker with next-level size and speed. Plays heads-up football, breaks down well and effectively uses his hands. Remains disciplined with assignments, displays solid change of direction and quickly collapses inside to defend the run. Quick-footed in reverse, gets depth on pass drops and has a burst to the action. Fires up the field to fill gaps in run defense and shows a closing burst.
Neg:
Struggles to get off blocks. Controlled by opponents. Does not display top lateral speed in pursuit.
Analysis:
Hungalu was a productive linebacker at Oregon State and was effective as a playmaker in space. He offers possibilities as a backup in a variety of defensive systems and comes with a special-teams mentality.
