Bio:
Graduate transfer from Notre Dame who suffered a season-ending left knee injury in November after playing in four games and starting two in 2017. Completed 32 of 56 passes for 349 yards. Played seven games as a senior at Notre Dame and went 11-for-23 for 122 yards and one TD. Suffered a season-ending ankle injury two games into the 2015 season after throwing for 428 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Started one game as a sophomore and completed 21 of 35 passes for 266 yards and one score on the year.
Pos:
Well-traveled quarterback with a big-time arm. Patient in the pocket, quickly gets rid of the ball and throws a catchable pass. Puts touch on throws when necessary, spreads the ball around to all his receivers and easily makes throws on the move. Athletic, eludes the rush and carries the ball with an aggressive style.
Neg:
Does not properly read defenses and puts the ball into double or sometimes triple coverage. Not on the same page as receivers.
Analysis:
Zaire has the arm strength for the next level but must improve his fundamentals and defensive reads to have any chance to get out of camp this summer.
